【摘要】:ThistestmethodcanbeusedtoquantifyandcomparethecoolingprovidedbydifferentPersonalCoolingSystems(PCSx2019;s)wornwithastandardoutergarmentorwithanyotherspecifiedone.Thetestmethodisintendedtoallowgarmentsbasedonvariouscoolingtechnologiestobeevaluatedfairlyandobjectively,bytakingintoaccountconvectiveandevaporativeheattransfer.Asweatingthermalmanikinaccuratelyaccountsforevaporativecooling,whichrepresentstheonlyactivemeansofheattransferoccurringinhumans.UtilizingasweatingthermalmanikinwillalsopermittheheatremovalratetobemeasuredforalltypesofPCS.ThemeasurementsofheatremovalratesanddurationofcoolingprovidedbythePCSx2019;sdependontheapparatusandtechniquesused.Itisnotpracticalinatestmethodofthisscopetoestablishdetailssufficienttocoverallcontingencies.Departuresfromtheinstructionsinthistestmethodwillpotentiallyleadtosignificantlydifferenttestresults.Technicalknowledgeconcerningthetheoryofheattransfer,temperature,airmotionmeasurement,evaporativecooling,andtestingpracticesisneededtoevaluatewhichdeparturesfromtheinstructionsgiveninthistestmethodaresignificant.Reportanydepartureswiththeresults.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofheatremovalratefromasweatingheatedmanikinaswellasthedurationofcoolingprovidedbyacoolinggarment,inordertoassesstheeffectivenessofPCS.1.1.1Thistestmethodrequirestheuseofasweatingheatedmanikin.Thesweatingcapabilityisessential,totakeintoaccountthepotentiallylargefractionofheatdissipationassociatedwithevaporativecooling.1.2TheexperimentalvaluesobtainedforthecoolingratesandcoolingdurationapplyonlytotheparticularPCSandadditionalclothingensemble(standardoutergarment,outergarmentintegratedtothePCS,oranyotheroutergarment,asappropriate)astested,andforthespecifiedenvironmentalconditions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinthisstandardshallbeSIunits.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
