【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistestmethodistoassesstheinstallationadequacyandtheoveralleffectsofservice-relateddeterioration(moisture,etc.)ontheEIFSwallassemblyasopposedtosmalllocalizedareasofdegradation.ResistancetopulltestingasdeterminedbythistestisusedasoneofthefactorsinevaluatingtheEIFSassemblyonaspecificproject.ThevaluesobtainedbythistestmethodarenotpurportedtoberepresentativeoftheactualwindloadcapacityorotherstructuralpropertiesofaspecificEIFScladwallinstallation,butmaybehelpfulinassessingsuchloadcapacities.Sincethistestisusedforfieldevaluationofexistingfacilities,loadresultsobtainedfromthistestmustbeinterpretedbasedonsoundengineeringpractice,applicablebuildingregulations,andcodeshavingjurisdiction.Itisthediscretionofthetestspecifiertodirectlyutilizetheresultsderivedbythistestmethod,orelsetoutilizethetestresultswithanappropriatefactorofsafetytoobtainacceptableworkingloadsforeachproject.Thismethodisintendedforuseontestspecimensoccurringorinstalledonexistingbuildings.ThelossofoutwardwindloadresistanceofanEIFSwallassemblyafterexposuretomoistureandotherweatherconditionsmaycompromisetheabilityofthecladdingorotherwallcomponentstoperformadequatelyinplace.Thistestmethoddoesnotprovideanymeansbywhichthetestresultsmaybegeneralizedtothelargerwallarea.Sucheffortsshouldbebasedonexperienceandengineeringjudgement.Themannerinwhichthetestloadisappliedmayaffecttheloadcapacityobtainedfromusingthisstandard.AdiscussionofvariousloadapplicationtechniquesandtheireffectsisgiveninAppendixX1.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaproceduretodeterminetheresistanceofasectionoftheexteriorinsulationandfinishsystem(EIFS)tooutwardloadsimposedonanexistingexteriorwallassemblythathasbeeninplaceonthebuildingforanunspecifiedperiodoftime.ItisdestructiveinnaturewithinthelocalizedareastestedandrequiresappropriaterepairoftheEIFScladdingandsheathingoncethetestprocedurehasbeencompleted.Thistestprocedureutilizesmechanicalmethodstoobtaininformation,whichmaybehelpfulinevaluatingthenaturalapplicationofnegativewindloadsontheEIFSassembly.Somevariabilityofresultsshouldbeanticipatedwithinthewallassemblytestedduetodifferencesininstallationprocedures,exposure,orabusesubsequenttoapplication.1.2Thistestmethodissuitableforuseoncladdingassembliesthathavebeeninplaceashorttime(newconstruction),aswellasforlongerperiodsinordertoevaluatedetrimentaleffectsontheEIFSlamina,insulationattachment,substrateintegrity,andattachmentsafterexposuretoweatherandotherenvironmentalconditions.Itisnotintendedtoevaluatetheperformanceofstructuralframing.Testresultsonanyparticularbuildingmaybehighlyvariabledependingonspecimenlocationandcondition,andaresubjecttointerpretationbythetestspecifier.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,orequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1Duetovariationsinexposureandconstructionassemblies,fieldspecimensselectedfortestingutilizingthistestmethodmayexperiencesuddenfailureandreleaseoftheimposedloads.SeeNote7forfurtherinformation.
